(2007) Be Kind Rewind Trailer

I've seen all of Michel Gondry's work including a handful of his music videos. In his films (i.e. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Human Nature and The Science of Sleep) he creates these strange, surreal worlds that blur our interpretation of reality as we know it. That said, I've heard about this film for more than a year and, after hearing the premise, couldn't believe that any studio would agree to back it. I like the idea. Plus, it looks like everyone is having fun in the trailer. I just think it's refreshing to see a brilliant idea pumped through the Hollywood sequel machine. I'm definitely buying a ticket for this one.

Ok, I can live with the fact that Jack Black's character got magnetized somehow. But that's where it ends.

I don't know if I could suspend my disbelief if the premise is
a) that they thought it practical to remake an entire video store's worth of movies on their own.
b) That the (they seemed intelligent) characters initially believed they could somehow save the video store with a library of home-made shite.

ah - wrong on too many levels. I'll just kick back and let you tell me if it's stupid or not.

Hey man. Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. I'll see you in line at the theater for Rush Hour 7.

Yeah, because the queue will be right next to the line you'll be standing in for Nacho Libre DOS, starring Jason Patric (Because Jack Black turned down 20 million to be in it).
