Yahoo Don't Know Shit About Movies.

I started a list for my kids. Perhaps I’ll share it with you after I’m finished. It’s the top 100 movies for my kids to see before they die. It’s a work in progress that, I’m sure, will change every year until I, myself, get horizontal for the eventual dirt nap.

Ideally - Budha, God & Satan willing - I'll be able to watch all 100 with them and discuss why I think said movies are so fucking awesome.

In any event, in an attempt to mimic myself, Yahoo just released it’s Top 10(2) Movies To See Before You Die. Not really sure how they came up with the list, but my list is going to be fucking better. Stay tuned.

While you’re waiting for the GLOAT (Greatest List of All Time)… go ahead and check out Yahoo’s list below. I’ve seen 80 of the films (if you’re counting all three Lord of the Rings movies) with 22 left to see including Singing in the Rain, Bonnie and Clyde, Breathless, The 400 Blows, among others.

In any event, I've highlighted all of the movies I've seen in blue. How many have you seen? Do you agree with this list? Any that I haven't seen that I should rent immediately?

And, all Simpsons jokes aside, what in the hell is #100: The World of Apu?

Where's 'The Deer Hunter'? Glengarry Glen Ross', 'Heat'? 'Fight Club' 'Millers Crossing'
'Apollo 13'?

I know 'The Searchers' has a way of showing up on these kind of lists for years but as time goes on John Wayne's acting gets more dated...to the point where I can say that John Wayne sucks.

I hear ya bro. All six you mentioned just may make my list.

I'm with you about John Wayne. he does sort of suck.

Thanks for the reply.

What the fuck is Terminator 2 doing on this list?! And where is Woody Allen's best movie, 'Crimes and Misdemeanors'? And how do leave out 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'Full Metal Jacket' but still have Die Hard and 'Blazing Saddles'! I mean c'mon man! If you're going have a Mel Brooks movie on your list at least make 'Young Frankenstien' your choice.

Where are the documentaries? Are you kidding? My list for my kids of 100 movies they need to see before they die will include several documentaries. 'Fog of War', 'Farenheight 911' 'Unforgivable Blackness' just to name a few...

This is the fatal flaw of the mass produced list. Yahoo must be representative. Blazin Saddles or Young Frankenstein Apocalypse Now or Full Metal Jacket. A better list risks repetive genres and being over 100. Yahoo has to have so many Zombie movies so many chainsaw movies so many vampires and serial killers so many gang bangs so many aliens its all a dirty quota system which really excludes some of the best.I prefer more gang bangs and less aliens that fucks up the list for me right there.
I would examine the best 317 movies ever. What's so important about 100, or like the Big Ten just call it 100 and have however many you want. Would anyone notice 11 extra? Actually, I'll just wait for Brad's list.

Thanks Drew. I like gangbangs as well! I was trying to whittle my list down to 100, but after reading your diatribe, I think I'll post it tomorrow as is. Tell me what you think after you review.

Thanks, Brad
